x3o.CSS CEVO-P Season Update

As the 6th season of CEVO Professional for Counter-Strike: Source begins to wrap up; here is a look back at the season. Plagued with numerous roster changes prior to this CEVO season, as well as in the midst of the competition, x3o has proved to be resilient taking down some very tough opponents.
Week 1:1 opened up with x3o taking on the newly altered Dallas Venom squad, on Inferno. A CGS team, consisting of three newly drafted players: brawwr, mustang and classified. Playing alongside current CGS player and 1.6 veteran Sunman, x3o fell to the Venom 13-6, one of their biggest losses of the season.
Moving into Week 1:2 on inferno as well, x3o was set to play the zomblerz. A team which is now tied for first with the Venom with a record of 10-3, this team is, in my eyes, the best team currently competing in CEVO-P. With the veteran experience of mason, rockyte and sunman, x3o beat this stacked zomblerz team in an impressive fashion, taking 8 rounds in the second half. Dealing zomblerz their first loss of the season, and ended up with a 1-1 record.
Going into Week 2 on Nuke, x3o was set to play a fairly unknown team in suave. Starting off with a 4 round deficit in the first half, x3o looked to be in trouble. But as history depicts, one half of a match is a very poor indicator of what can come to pass. Sealing the deal with a 9-2 stomping in the second half, x3o.CSS won their match and was given a forfeit win over Gaming Revolution to finish off Week 2.
The drought that everyone team tries to avoid hit x3o.CSS in Week 3. To their credit, a roster change did occur, with sunman departing with an opportunity to play in the CGS, and deppy coming in to take his place. In all honesty, I don’t see this as a downgrade for x3o at all, as deppy has played alongside many top CSS teams since the games release, including EFG and Team XFX. Closing out Week 3 of CEVO-P, x3o left with two losses, one to the ’94 Knicks and another FEVER. Week 4 was not much different, with x3o losing two close matches to justBALLS and Devastation on Train.
As CEVO CSS just passes its half way point in the season, x3o breaks their 5 game losing streak in style by edging out the Dallas Venom in Week 2, a CGS team which beat them in the season opener. With x3o’s last 3 matches totaling a 2-1 record, the team continues to battle for a playoff spot in this highly competitive CEVO Professional league.
Be sure to wish x3o.CSS luck in their match against the ’94 Knicks this monday, as a piece of that $10,000 prize is only a few wins away.
