Tonight X3O is announcing a major change in our professional gaming franchise. We will be saying goodbye to some of the most talented players to ever wear the X3O flag. Our former Counter-Strike 1.6 team has recently been acquired and will be joining team Complexity. Below is a quote from Team X3O's executive director Nick Fitz:
"This is definitely a bitter sweet moment for me. Managing Counter-Strike 1.6 teams has been a staple in my life since 2004. This most recent team was probably the most professional and sincere group of players I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I am proud to call all of them my friends and will definitely be seeing a lot more of them in the weeks to come. With that being said it was time for them to move on. X3O has grown exponentially as an IT company and the country's premiere gaming center in the past two years, but has definitely had shortcomings due to the current economic climate. This team deserves to be able to attend any international LAN and practice against the best; both are something we are not in a position to give at this time. I truly wish them the best of luck and hope that they are able to achieve their goals and dreams with compLexity." said Nick.
Fitz continued, "With all that being said we will not be rushing to acquire a new CS team at this time. Instead I will spend more time focusing on bring back our tournament series, something that the community has learned to love and appreciate. I expect to be announcing tournament plans for this summer season in the next week. Thank you as always to our fans who have followed us all these years; I know that while this is tough now, your continued support will not go unrewarded in the near future."
Again, X3O would like to thank all of our fans for their continued support and wish the new team compLexity the best of luck in their upcoming events. Check back frequently for new updates on Team X3O and X3O events.
