Hi, we are a group of Starcraft Broodwar players and we're interested in organizing a LAN in the Maryland / DC / North Virginia area. X3O is one of the PC centers we are looking at. Basically I think we will be having approximately 10~25 people. Is there a group rate for bringing a large party, and can we reserve computers based on how many people will be coming?
Here's a link to our thread on a forum that we are trying to organize the event. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=95541 We are hoping to have this sometime before the ending period of summer from about early July to mid July on a Saturday. Thanks in advance for information to help us in our game seeking adventure of enormous magnitude! :)
A few other questions that I
A few other questions that I forgot to ask also! Are there any recommended restaurants in the area around the PC center and also will the SC:BW be able to work? I was reading a bit earlier on this forum with problems playing the older games. We can bring our own mouses and mousepads, also we can bring laptops as well but I believe computers are offered right? Thanks :)
First off, thank you for
First off, thank you for thinking about coming out to our center. I read the teamliquid.net post and am seeing that there is a ton of positive feedback and support from the local SC community. Let me go ahead and answer some of your questions as well as provide you a bit more information about how this event could work.
Generally speaking we do not offer reservations for groups of friends that want to come in together. Our policy in the past has simply been first come first serve. With that in mind, Saturday & Sundays do get booked for birthday parties, which leave us with limited or no availability for several hours at a time.
What I would be willing to do for you is set-up a StarCraft Day that would allow players that PRE-PAID for their spots, the ability to reserve stations for the day. X3O would also not book parties on that day, ensuring that you would have full access to the facility. We would need at least 10 players to pre-pay for the event two weeks in advance or earlier to guarantee the date. The best possible rates I can give gamers that want to reserve a computer for this event on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday would be our normal rates. I can however extend to you the $5.00 day pass offer Monday-Thursday, through August of this year.
Alternatively you can take advantage of all promotional rates and not be- required to pre-pay, however it would be first come first serve and subject to limited availability during birthday parties.

There are a ton of restaurants in this area that range in a variety of prices. Immediately next to us you will find a Papa John’s Pizza, Arby’s, Popeyes, McDonalds, Chipotle and Silver Diner. Within a 5 minute car drive there is also a Ruby Tuesdays, Chiles, TGIFridays and even a Korean BBQ place :).
StarCraft Broodwar is currently installed on all of our machines. While we have limited keys for playing online, we can support all of our machines playing on LAN. If you would require any special configs/scripts/maps, just let me know and we would be happy to install them for you.
Hopefully this helps you in making your decision. If you have any other questions at all please feel free to post them here or call us at (301)-816-9055.
