So, this is a first! Rob “griM_” Koster having a weekly blog? What’s the world coming to? Well let’s start this off by introducing myself the proper way for all those people who don’t know me (not many). I’m from Long Island NY, I’m 24, and I work at a gym as a personal trainer. I began gaming at the age of 16, playing games like Rogue Spear and Unreal Tournament. I stumbled upon Call of Duty in 2003 and since then I’ve played every game in the series, save for those disasters by that “other” company. Since beginning to play competitively, I’ve attended every major LAN event involving the CoD series, including the first ever CPL. In CoD 2, I achieved excellence by being ranked the No. 1 sniper in the game and 5th best player in North America by Gotfrag.com.
I’ve always been a loyal type of guy, never falling victim to clan hopping. I’ve only been on a few select teams in my day and here I find myself with the last gaming organization I’ll ever be with: X3O. I joined forces with the organization about a year and a half ago while leading Powerhouse Gaming, an organization I created. NickFitz, the owner of Team X3O, was hesitant about expanding into the CoD series, but after a trial period and seeing my massive muscles he gave in and that’s all she wrote. X3O will be my final resting place as I prepare myself to play one more game competitively before hanging up my mouse and keyboard. The blueprint for the game’s competitive future has yet to be drafted, but I’ll just say this: Modern Warfare 2 is an airstrike’s worth of fun.

Does MW2 have what it takes to make it into the competition scene? I’ve received tons of XFire and random private messages on IRC regarding my thoughts on the game — after all, I would know best. I might as well just explain everything here so everyone can read it once. Let me just say that I am a professional gamer that doesn’t know anything about computers and other gaming communities. I am not the typical gamer, as I prefer to be outdoors with my beautiful girlfriend (brownie points) doing sports related things. The smell of a LAN makes me uncomfortable, but I make the sacrifice for the series I love. With that said, from playing the game for the past week and seeing some old-school top teams/players coming back to try the new game types, it’s clear that this game has captured a lot of attention. My theory is that when big name players/organizations pick up a game, it’s usually supported. My honest opinion is that the game will definitely have a chance to make it big as long as the first couple of LANs have a good enough showing and a unified rule set can be implemented throughout North America and Europe.
Fitness Tip of the Week: Do Not Skip Meals
Eating small, frequent meals helps to balance your calorie intake throughout the day and also keeps your blood sugar level balanced. Instead of eating 3 big meals, try to eat 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day — if you want muscles like mine, that is.

I think you are right. Most importantly we need a rule set and a way to implement the rule set (mod system). Without that there is no way a game can become a serious esports title.
although this game is fun its
although this game is fun its a prime example of how shitty todays games are for competitive play
I agree. really only time
I agree. really only time will tell to see how it develops, but with no modding abilities I can't see it going very far.
Fitness tip of the week =
Fitness tip of the week = Win! We'll have to see, but a majority of teams in europe have said going back to cod4 would be the better option, which I agree with unfortunately. However, what's good for the euros isn't always good for us here in the states... Only time will tell.
