I know all you gamers are patiently waiting at your computers, furiously refreshing your browsers in anticipation of my next post. Well, wait no more. So, what's gone on in my life in the past week that all of you want to know about... hmm, everything? I saw the movie "The Fourth Kind" with my girlfriend and let's just say we didn’t sleep for two nights. It might have had something to do with the fact that we saw it at 11:30 at night and there were only two other people in the whole theater. Or maybe we're both wussies. Either way, we spent the next few hours following the movie at my house googling the storyline to make sure that the majority of it was false. Had we not done that I think maybe my girlfriend would be in therapy.
I recently received another ring on my championship hand, which coincidentally is the same hand I use to... well, never mind. Not many of you know that I still played CoD4 competitively, but I do and I recently won the CEVO-A Finals with team Immortal 7. The team is lead by Chris “Siege” Deloid who was always friendly and respectful toward me. He asked me in the beginning of the season to join up in case I ever got the urge to play CoD4 competitively again. Obviously I got the bug, and I'm glad to have helped them claim the CEVO-A title. I will admit I was rusty and didn’t help the team much, being on the bottom half of the scoreboard, but my CEVO-P experience came through at the most important time on the final map. It was in double overtime when we were down 3-2 with the final round approaching. We quickly fell into a 2v5 in favor of the opposing team, clutch impact. After smitty killed one, they quickly retaliated and left me in a 1v4 situation with nearly 20 seconds left and still a bomb to be planted. Let's go to the clip to get a feel for what went on.
I guess I still got it in me after all! =p
Fitness Tip of the Week: Combine carbohydrates and protein at every meal
The simple fact is, our bodies work better with a balance of carbohydrates and protein. Not only is protein essential for building healthy muscle and maintaining a strong immune system, it stabilizes insulin levels, which leads to steady energy throughout the day. One more benefit: eating protein has been shown to reduce your appetite. So, avoid high-carbohydrate nutrition plans and instead balance your protein and carbohydrate intake.
Congrats on the CEVO win Rob.
