Week three already?!?! Regardless of the season rolling on, X3O.CSS plays both of its matches this week on the brand new CEVO map entitled, de_scorch. Thus far the map has gotten mixed reviews from the community due to its odd A bombsite and awkward use of height in different areas. When playing the map this week in a couple of random pugs, I have to say I enjoyed having a bit of an advantage being able to rush upper A and have moderate success every round (pending spawn location). However, I’m just a n00b, so to get a better feel of how the map plays, I asked Keven “AZK” Lariviere about how he felt while playing the newest addition to the CEVO map rotation.

“I’ve really taken a liking to the map after playing it this past week. At first it seemed like a bunch of random angles and really awkward play. However after creating some new setups, and finding out the typical pushes and terrorist attacks, we’ve managed to do pretty well for such a short time with the map.”

The first match of the week will take place against Frag Dominant who is coming into week three with a 3-1 record. After picking up a big win against Team Pandemic last week on de_dust2 , FragD is making an early case for a playoff run and are clicking on all cylinders. The latter of the two matches this week puts us up against the current 2nd place team in CEVO this season, Blight Gaming . Comprised up of players from the former Netcode Illuminati and AYEDOG, this star-studded roster will be one to push X3O to the limits, and should be the best match thus far of the season.
