Something guys want to add in the formatting guide is that multiple spaces will show up as one. For example:

Between these: | | there is 1 space
Between these: | | there are 5 spaces

See how the both appear to be 1 space?
Well, if you want to make consecutive spaces show up as wider, type   instead of ' '.

For example, by typing:
Between these: |     | there are 5 spaces
You get:
Between these: |     | there are 5 spaces
