Suggestions after a first visit =D
Posted By: sochee | On August 6, 2006 - 7:02pm |helllooo =O i came to x3o today, had a great time with a friend. expectations were high from my last visit to take a look, but these are some suggestions me and my friend came up with:
- put a mousepad for every computer? you guys sell them, so just get a QcK for every computer in the room, the tables feel greasy
- you support HL2: Episode 1 but I could not find it on the Cafe steam account, really wanted to play that and check it out, also most of the older games that we wanted to play were updating and only at 30~32%, but im guessing thats because you have only recently upgraded the system so those downloads will finish soon
-half of the games not working without the CD. this was the single most annoying problem in the center - we limited to the newer games. we're planning to bring more friends over next weekend, for a total of maybe 5 or 6 people, and if we wanted to play WC3 or SC:BW for example, 3v3 teams that would be a lot of fun but it cannot be done right now. Maybe get more CDs or something like that so you can make an actual LAN?
-the headsets and cheap and small but whatever :P I wouldn't be able to hear anything anyway because of so much noise even with bigger ones
Other then that we had a great time, really enjoyed playing Quake 4 - CS just didn't feel like it does at home, and we found Q4 is a great game. had to play 1v1 though cuz the other guys set a password on their server =[
PS - I have ESEA Premium and the client would not launch, iron out all those programs not working.

We re-imaged all of the PC's
We re-imaged all of the PC's on Thursday/Friday to have them running faster and more efficiently. Then the DoD Tournament came, and the game doesnt run on any of the new drivers/hardware, so we had to roll back to somewhere in-between the old systems and new systems.
All of those issues, which are completely valid, will be taken care of by your next visit. I am sure then, you will see the true side of what x3o can really be.
Thanks for giving us a shot, and I look forward to seeing you again this weekend.

Haha well I went 2 times
Haha well I went 2 times last 2 days now, first time everything worked thanks =), second time something called "GameDrive" popped up and nothing worked again =( plus BF2 froze half the time, and the tables are still greasy and there are no mousepads. So far I've brought 2 new guys in, hoping to come with a crowd next weekend =]
Hmm, GameDrive looks like
Hmm, GameDrive looks like over charging for what can usally be done with popular/common/legal tools. For example:
1 license of Alcohol 120% or Alcohol 52%
Such as:
Simply create a image of a CD and distrubute between computers. Then mount the image using the virtual drive.
There is also more specialized software that don't image the whole disk. GameJackal comes to mind as an example.
As for headphones, Sennheiser MX 450 or Sennheiser HD 201 are probably the best bang for the buck when approaching the dirt cheap end of the spectrum.
Oh BTW, GameDrive doesn't work with Prey AFAIK (probably resolved in the next revision). The problem is that GameDrive keeps on getting blacklisted by new copy protections and GameDrive isn't updated often enough to stay ahead of the curve.
what is interesting is that
what is interesting is that i saw the Daemon Tools icon, in green, in the taskbar that day too - do you guys have both installed? I don't care how you do it as long as it consistently works. And I still think mousepads, headsets like matrix mentioned (the logitech ones hurt your ears, and the small ones are uncomfortable and all taped together), and air conditioning (wasn't on when i was there yesterday) would make X3O a better place. But that's just my 2 cents.
the headphones r fine...i
the headphones r fine...i use audio 90s for my own personal use and that's what x3o has there, which is still quality to me.
as for the mousepad, why don't you bring your own into the center? you can't risk people leaving with your mousepads, I really don't think it would be a good idea to have a mousepad out by every computer.
Hope you guys disabled the
Hope you guys disabled the spyware when installing Daemon Tools, not a good thing to have on a computer ;)
(It's in the form of a "Toolbar")

Hmm, I think when you post a comment it shouldn't go at the bottom, because sometimes it won't even make sense if you say something because it will be in the wrong order...
