X3O Icel0re at QuakeCon 2008 Preview

With this years highly anticipated QuakeCon event just around the corner (July 31 – August 3), here’s some information on the event and what you can expect from X3O’s very own dueler who will be in attendance.
For those that aren’t familiar with QuakeCon, it is free convention held every year in the Dallas Texas area. Sponsored by id Software, creators of popular titles such as Doom, Quake, and Wolfenstein; QuakeCon draws in thousands of gamers from all around the world to compete.
X3O’s long-time member and premier dueler David “icel0re” Ritson will be making his 2008 debut in the first ever Intel QUAKE LIVE Pro-Tournament. QUAKE LIVE is id Software’s new title created to deliver the energy and excitement to a broader audience.
The two $12,500 QUAKE LIVE tournaments will feature a classic 1 vs. 1 competition and a 3 vs. 3 CTF tournament.
Expecting a top 3 seeding, icel0re, alongside two of America’s top duelers will be competiting in the CTF portion of the Intel sponsored QUAKE LIVE tournament.
Along with a piece of that $12,500 prize, icel0re will hopefully be the 1 of the 250 QuakeCon participants selected to be taking home the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. This $55,000 car will be given away as a part of QuakeCon’s Ultimate Power Up sweepstakes.
